Wilma M. Hoefer, 92 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri.

Born Sunday, December 9, 1923 in Higginsville, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Chris Opfer and the late Selma Lefman Opfer. She was a lifelong resident of Higginsville, Mayview area. She married Maurice H. Hoefer on November 10, 1943, he preceded her in death on August. 12, 2014.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship, She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, The Trio Club, The Garden Club and formerly served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors. She worked at West Central Electric Coop for 35 years where she was a capital credit accountant.

Surviving are one son, Wayne (Joyce) Hoefer of Mayview, MO; two daughters, Elaine ( Pel) Adams of Columbia, MO, and Sharon Hoefer of Higginsville; three grandchildren, Robert (Amy) Hoefer, Amanda (Scott) Hoeppner and Elizabeth (William) Ogan and six great grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Maurice; three brothers, Richard, Ralph and Wilbur Opfer and one sister Ruth Vorwark.

A funeral service will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday at Salem United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Tommy L. Faris officiating and Jamie Stoner, organist. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Salem United Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be sent to Salem United Church of Christ or Higginsville Food Pantry.

Casket bearers are Robert Hoefer, Greg Opfer, Brett Opfer, Chris Opfer, Reed Opfer amd Terry Kirchhoff.
