Willis H. Rinne, age 89 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri.

Born Friday, March 18, 1927 in Mayview, Missouri, he was the son of the late William Rinne and the late Malinda Lefman Rinne. Also preceded in death is one sister, Elizabeth Alexander.

Willis lived most of his life in Higginsville and was a 1945 graduate of Mayview High School. He joined the Navy on April 18, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri and served as a Carpenter's Mate Third Class (CB) V-6 during World War II until honorably discharged on July 9,1946.

He and Grace I. Kronsbein were married April 9,1950; she currently resides at Meyer Care Center. Willis worked as an interior installer at General Motors Leeds Plant, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Higginsville American Legion #223 and the United Auto Workers

In addition to his wife, surviving are son, Tim (Sharon) Rinne; daughter, Lisa (Randy) Stone; and brother, Kenneth (Nancy) Rinne all of Higginsville, MO; 4 grandsons, Kyle (Amy) Rinne, Brett (Virginia) Rinne, Logan (Sarah) Schneider, and Ethan (Holly) Schneider; 5 great grandchildren, Spencer Rinne, Isabel Rinne, Elan Schneider, Autumn Schneider and Owen Schneider.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 1501 Lipper St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Pallbearers are Kyle Rinne, Brett Rinne, Logan Schneider, Ethan Schneider, Jim Kronsbein and Mike Lettau. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Brown, Kevin Rinne, Clyde Green, Jr., Kent Alexander and Kendall Rinne.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church1500 Lipper St. Higginsville, MO 64037.
