Wilbert L. Schnakenberg, 79 of Concordia, Missouri died on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.

Born Monday, August 16, 1937 in Concordia, he was the son of the late Walter C. Schnakenberg and the late Edna H. Jungklaus Schnakenberg. He married Betty A. Becker Schnakenberg on March 1, 1967 and she survives in Concordia.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Wilbert started working at the Shoe Factory in Sweet Springs, MO until 1957. He then worked as a box cutter for the Russell Stover Box Factory in Concordia. He also farmed on the side.

Surviving are one son, Kevin (Sue) Schnakenberg of Mandeville, LA; two daughters, Katherine (Michael) Adams of Independence MO and April (Landen) Todd of Higginsville, MO; Nine grandchildren, Sierra (Andy) Burden, Richard, Ben, Chris and Jacob Adams, Kyle Schnakenberg, Wyatt and Whitney Todd, one step granddaughter Rachelle Adams; two great granddaughters, Ruby Burden and Emerald Burden.

He is preceded in death by his two brothers; Kenneth N. Schnakenberg and Verlon W. Schnakenberg.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating and Donna Owens, organist. Interment will be in Oak Grove Community Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran High School.

Casket bearers are Wendell Starkebaum, Paul Cowherd, Jim Metcalf, Robert Dotson, Marvin Buesing and Harold Lueck.
