Nadine Stuerke, 87 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her home.Born Sunday, August 14, 1929 in Higginsville, she was the daughter of the late William Carter Rogers and Myrtle Mae Gunter Rogers.

Nadine (or Deanie or Nikie) was a beloved mother, grandmother, nana and aunt. She is survived by her daughter Debra and son-in-law Derrick Krieger of Higginsville and her son Steven of Columbia; six grandchildren, Brandon and Becky Stuerke of Columbia, Caleb and Vanessa Stuerke of Wheatland, WY, Zach and Robin Stuerke of Wahiawa, HI, Luke Stuerke of Vietnam, Mitchell Krieger of Higginsville and Zach Krieger of East Stroudsburg, PA. She is also survived by six soon to be seven great grandchildren, Madison Stuerke of Wahiawa, HI, Gwen, Calvin and Bri Stuerke of Columbia and Ethan and Owen Stuerke of Wheatland, WY. She is also survived by her sister Donna Meyers and husband Ernie of Concordia; Sister-in-law Carol Stuerke of Higginsville; Brother-in-law Paul Stuerke and wife Betsy of Tuscola, IL and brother-in-law Neal Stuerke and wife Phyllis of Sweet Springs. Her extended family includes dozens of amazing nieces and nephews scattered all over the world.

Preceding her in death was her husband Jim; parents; brothers, Fred, Bill, Alford, Carl Glenn, Bobby and Marvin Rogers; sisters, Helen Daniels, Hazel Nadler and Betty Souder; in-laws Floyd and Eunice (Stuerke) Jenkins and Bill Stuerke.

Nadine married Jim in 1950 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage before Jim passed away in 2007. She worked outside the home before her children were born but after Deb and Steve came along she delighted in being a homemaker. She often said the best years of her life were when her kids were small and she could be home with them. Later, she went back to work at Kramer's Clothing and later Buck's Supermarket making the best donuts on town. Nadine and Jim attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville and Nadine taught Sunday School for several years. She lived to see many of her students have families of their own. Nadine loved to cook, grow flowers, embroider, read and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nadine will be missed by so very many. Memorials can be made to the Radio Fund at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, the Higginsville Senior Center or Crossroads Hospice,

A funeral service will held be at 10:30 AM on Monday July 17, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating. Music will be provided by Donna Owens, organist and Sandy Starkebaum, vocalist. The visitation will be held Sunday from 4-6pm at the Hoefer Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Dale Jenkins, David Jenkins, Roger Meyers, Greg Soendker, Mike Rogers and Cameron Meyers.
