Mary Louise Fisher, 89 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri.

Born Sunday, May 13, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Arthur August Hoefer and the late Hulda Marie Echelmeier Hoefer . She married Howard N. Fisher on November 4, 1955 and he survives of the home.

She was a life long resident of Higginsville. She graduated in 1946 from Higginsville High School and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where she served the church in many capacities. She worked as a telephone operator, a bookkeeper at the Bank of Higginsville and a driver at John Knox Village East. She volunteered for the Higginsville Chamber of Commerce for a number of years.

Surviving are her husband Howard N. Fisher; one son, Zane (Carrie) Fisher of New Orleans, LA,; one daughter, Susan (Wayne) Smith of Odessa, MO: three grandchildren, Sara Tunnell, Laura Fisher and Charles Howard Fisher.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Salem United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Tommy L. Faris officiating and Jamie Smith, organist. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Suggested memorials are to Salem United Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Salem United Church of Christ,

Casket bearers are Stan Echelmeier, Brian Cornelius, David Reid, Don Knehans, David Schmidt and Daryl Augustine.
