Mary L. Borgstadt, 83 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri.

Born Monday, October 23, 1933 in Malta Bend, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Edward Hemme and the late Lydia Kirchhoff Hemme. She married Eugene "Sonny" Borgstadt on May 12, 1954. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2003. She lived most of her life in Aullville, Mo. moving to Higginsville in 2017.

Surviving are one son, Karl (Faye) Borgstadt of Grain Valley, Missouri; two daughters, Wanda (Nathan) Norris of Higginsville, MO and Brenda (Karl) Kresse of Higginsville, MO,one brother, Kenneth (Doris) Hemme of Concordia, Missouri; two sisters, Ruth Yokley of Sweet Springs, Missouri and Betty Driver of Concordia, MO; 16 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Eugene "Sonny" Borgstadt; one granddaughter, Amber Kresse; two brothers, Glen Hemme & Burdett Hemme and one sister Dorothy Hemme.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the Hoefer Chapel, 1600 Main St., Higginsville. Memorial contributions may be sent to Preferred Hospice of Lexington, MO.
