Leo J. Quarti, 98 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Born Wednesday, May 7, 1919 in Lexington, Missouri, the son of the late Luigi Quarti and the late Caterina Ghisalberti Quarti. He married Lois A. Hale Quarti September 13, 1943. She preceded him in death August 4, 2012.

He was a chief machinist's mate for the United States Navy, honorably discharged in 1947. He worked as a journeyman millwright for General Motors at the Leed's Assembly Plant for over 30 years retiring in 1981.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Judy) Quarti of Higginsville, MO and Begi (Lucinda) Quarti of Bella Vista, AR; one daughter, Christine (Benton) Lewis of Wichita Falls, TX; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Quarti, Chesco Quarti and Louis Quarti; and three sisters, Elizabeth Amos, Esther Atwood, and Mary Brown.

Inurnment with military honors will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Chapel in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Hoefer Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
