Glenn W. Emis, 90 of Corder, Missouri died on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Born Sunday, August 22, 1926 in Alma, Missouri, he was the son of the late William H. Emis, Jr. and the late Dora M. Strader Emis.

He served as a Corporal in the Marine Corps from 1944 until 1946. He was a Veteran of World War II.

He married Dorothy Ruth Buck on February 9, 1947. They moved to Corder in 1956. He was a member of Corder United Methodist Church. He worked as repair man and driver for General Motors Leeds Auto Assembly Plant, retiring in 1986.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy of the home; two sons, Michael (Shirley) Emis of Fayetteville, AR and Donn (Judy) Emis of Corder, MO; one daughter, Nancy Bush of Gladstone, MO; two brothers, Adrian (Vicki) Elson of Olathe, KS and Carl Elson of Vienna, OH; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William H. Emis, III; one sister, Madolyn Piper.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Corder United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Varner officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Hoefer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lafayette County Cancer or Corder United Methodist Church.

Casket bearers are Keith Emis, Ryan Emis, John Emis, Alan Bush, Daniel Williams, John Thayne, Derek Reaves and Grant Chastain.
