Florence "Tootsie" Wahlers, 66, of Higginsville, Missouri died on Monday, May 22, 2017, at her home.

Born Thursday, August 31, 1950 in Higginsville, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Fiene and the late Helen Tebbenkamp Fiene.
Also preceded in death is one brother, Robert Lee Fiene.

She lived most of her life in Higginsville. She married Larry R. "Weasel" Wahlers on December 3, 1973; he survives of the home. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She was a member of The Happy Hookers Crochet Club. Some of the jobs she had over the years were a seamstress at the Garment Factory, a janitor at the Higginsville High School and was cashier at Breaktime Gas & Convenience store before retiring in 2016.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Shane (Sheena) Hackley of Pleasant Valley, MO and Jason (Julie) Wahlers of St. Robert , MO; one daughter, D. D. Averill of Higginsville; one brother, Donald (Rita) Fiene of Concordia, MO; two sisters, Darlene (Jack) Spielbesch of Lenexa, KS and Barbara (Steve) Leasure of Independence, KS and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Cook officiating and Sharon Pragman serving as organist.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Hoefer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Preferred Hospice of Lexington, MO or the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition.
