Elizabeth Pulliam, 86 of Corder, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at her home.

Born Thursday, January 30, 1930 in Memphis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Baptist Hardy and Ethel Rice Hardy. She married Keith Moore Pulliam on October 9, 1949 in Greensburg, MO by Rev. J.S. Laws.

Elizabeth graduated from Memphis High School and received her teaching certificate from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She taught school at the Cone country school in Scotland County.

Elizabeth and Keith farmed and raised their 4 children in Kirksville, MO then moved in 1977 to another farm in Harrison County, MO where they farmed until 1988. They moved to be near family in the Higginsville area in 1994, where they have farmed and lived for the past 22 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Higginsville and loved to participate in church activities and ministries. She moved many times throughout her life, but always made church involvement and ministry a priority. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and always enjoyed working with the kids and youth, She and her husband Keith worked in central Iowa for 3 years at a boys home. They also were foster parents for 4 years. They sponsored, taught and employed a Vietnamese family of 8 and a young couple from Cambodia at their diversified farm operation. Elizabeth was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed sewing, floral arranging, gardening, baking and ministering to the needs of others. In later years, she enjoyed traveling to visit distant friends and family. She was loved my many.

She is survived by her husband Keith; two sons, David (Vickie) Pulliam of Corder, MO and Robert (Gina) Pulliam of Montrose, CO; two daughters, Rebecca (Michael) Jusbasche of Houston, TX and Joyce (Bruce) Kosmiski of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Orval (Diane) Gardine of St. Charles, MO; 16 grandchildren, Gina (Wade) Kouril, Ashley (Lance) Mitchell, Alison (Adam) Agnew, Camden (Mallory) Pulliam, Jared (Diana) Mark, Rob Mark, Andrew Jusbasche, Brian Kosmiski, Cara Bowen-Kosmiski, Bethany Kosmiski, Wade (Beth) Pulliam, Megan (Andrew) Currie, Alyssa (Adam) Bueltel, Sara, Jason and Nathan Pulliam; and 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Michael Lee Pulliam; two brothers, George Richard Keith and Everett Keith; and one grandson Brett Kosmiski.

A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at First Baptist Church located at 1907 Peach St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037 with Robert Pulliam & Camden Pulliam officiating, Gina Pulliam, Pianist, Alison Agnew, Soloist and granddaughters, Vocalist. Pallbearers are the grandsons. Interment will be in Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg, MO.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church on Friday, May 20, 2016. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lafayette County Cancer Coalition or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
