Catherine E. Dittmer, 83, of Higginsville, Missouri died on Friday, March 25, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born Monday, July 25, 1932 in Corder, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Reinhold Friedrich Kessler and the late Nora Scholle Kessler.

Catherine lived most of her life in Higginsville. She and Willard William Dittmer were married May 31, 1952; he preceded her in death on January 2, 2005.

Also preceded in death was one son, Ward Dittmer and one brother, Robert Kessler.

She owned and operated Catherine Dittmer's Custom Framing for 25 years, retiring in 2014. She was a member of Immanuel Luthern Church, a member of the Higginsville Garden Club and volunteered at the Classic Shop in Higginsville. Catherine enjoyed playing bridge with friends for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Mark (Marie Wozniak) Dittmer of Higginsville, MO and Kenton (Annette Meinershagen) Dittmer of Higginsville, MO, two brothers, Allen (Evelyn) Kessler of Overland Park, KS and Kenneth (Martha Lou) Kessler of Scottsdale, AZ, one sister, Jeanne (Leo) Schumaker Schlesselman of Overland Park, KS, one sister in law, Delpha Kessler of Flower Mound, TX.; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Dittmer, Jonathan (Laura) Dittmer, James (Jesse) Dittmer, Jacob Dittmer, Drew (Allison) Dittmer, Danya (Andrew) Blaquiere, Katie (Michael) Schreiman, Cassie Hyden; 11 great grandchildren, Katelynn Jade Schreiman, Hayden Argyll Schreiman, Dylan Michael Schreiman, James Thomas Schnittker, Kiana Anique Schnittker, Kayley RaeAnn Schnittker, Mia Pearl Louise Schnittker, Colton Jonathan Dittmer, Hadley Marie Dittmer, Hazel Margaret Dittmer and John Kenneth Blaquiere.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, Missouri with Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating and Donna Owens organist. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers are Joshua Dittmer, Jonathan Dittmer, James Dittmer, Jacob Dittmer and Drew Dittmer.
