Betty Lou Overstreet, 86 of Blue Springs, Missouri died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at her residence.

Born Monday, March 10, 1930 in Mayview, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late George Allender and the late Frances Kennedy Allender.

She lived in Mayview until 1975. She married Charles L. Overstreet that same year and moved to Blue Springs, MO. She was a secretary at Western Electric and then worked at Lucent, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Overstreet of the home; two step sons, Matthew (Raquel) Overstreet of Blue Springs, MO and Michael Overstreet of Lees Summit, MO; step daughter, Cindy Overstreet of Ithaca, NY; three grandchildren, Isabel Overstreet, Trysten Overstreet and Sarah Overstreet.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Helliker and sister, Grace Doss.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church located at 3108 SW US Hwy. 40 Blue Springs, Missouri 64015 with the Rev. Andrew Florio officiating. Interment will be in City Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2017, at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.

Casket bearers are Keith Helliker, Matt Overstreet, Bob McCartney, Luke McCartney, Jeff Heitz and David Heitz.

Honorary bearers are Ronnie Doss and Larry Helliker.
