Anna "Ann" Alice Lang

  • BORN: August 1, 1922
  • DIED: September 17, 2017
  • LOCATION: Fort Myers, Florida

Anna (Ann) Alice Davis passed at Hope Hospice near her home in Fort Myers, Florida at the age of 95 on September 17, 2017. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lee J. Slusher and her second husband William H. Lang, Sr.

Ann was born on August 1, 1922 to John Rondeau Davis and Laura Green Davis in Lafayette County, the eighth of nine children. She learned from her family how important love and respect were to the quality of life with her family and friends. Ann succeeded in her life goals of being a loving wife and mother. Ann is survived by five Slusher children - Pamela Cornford of Genoa Nevada, David Slusher of Kailua Hawaii, Mark Slusher of Richmond Virginia, Julie Shiebany of Coumbia Missouri and Marie Brandt of Concordia Missouri and two of William Lang's children Betsy McCraine of Austin Texas and William Lang, Jr. of Chicago Illinois. The twins Paul Slusher and John Slusher passed shortly after birth in 1957. Ann has 12 grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in passing, and eight great grandchildren.

Ann loved life, even when it was challenging. She believed that God's love is often shown through a smile, a wave, a hug as well as prayer and forgiveness. Ann enjoyed reading the Bible each day and attended Church and Bible studies whenever she was able. From childhood she enjoyed memorizing Bible verses and poetry like William Wordsworth's Daffodils which she would recite to her Mother. She spent many hours in her youth on the porch swing just reading books.
Ann was a member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, The P.E.O. and Woodland Yacht Club. She especially enjoyed foreign travel, painting with watercolors and ceramics.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 14th at 11 am at the Higginsville City Cemetery.
